MARK CHAPMAN PHOTOGRAPHY : HISTORY

The area around Hexham in Northunberland is where Mark grew up and he has taken many images of countryside and landscapes in this area.
Most of the photos are near Hexham to the South East in the areas around Dukeshouse and Swallowship Woods, along Devils Water to Dilston; and there are images scattered around Hexham itself and Hadrians Wall.
Northumberland is a sparsely populated and rural county, and its wild but bleak beauty can be seen in the image of Hadrians Wall at Steel Rigg, while the images around Hexham show the calmer beauty of Tynedale.
