Sunset on Mount Blanc, French Alps.

This image is taken from the 'Cosmiques' Refuge on the French side of the massif, during a '3 monts' summit attempt in July 2005. We stayed in the refuge for the night and started the summit climb at 1am in the morning, but had to turn back at 8pm due to bad weather and high winds.
You can see the 'Grands Mulets' route below the refuge, and the dark central ridge in the photo is actually where the Grands Mulet hut is situated, a rest point before continuing up the mountain. This was the first successful ascent route in 1786.
